Baseball Recap: Hilmar Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hilmar's offense. They fell just short of the Escalon Cougars by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. That makes it the first time this season the Yellowjackets have let down their home crowd.

Hilmar saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Labno, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Labno snagged this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hilmar fell to 9-1. As for Escalon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

While Hilmar had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
