Softball Game Preview: Burton Panthers vs. North Zulch Bulldogs

The Burton Panthers will head out to face off against the North Zulch Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Burton has eight straight wins, North Zulch has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Burton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over Somerville. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, North Zulch came up short against Somerville last Friday, falling 19-1.

Burton pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for North Zulch, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Burton took their victory against North Zulch in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 20-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Burton since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
