SouthLake Christian Academy has gone a perfect 10-0 against Gaston Day recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (SouthLake Christian Academy has three straight victories, Gaston Day has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Jackson Drayton was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Evan Hogg, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Gaston Day's offense. They came up short against Gaston Christian on Thursday, falling 16-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The victory got SouthLake Christian Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Gaston Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Gaston Day's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: SouthLake Christian Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Gaston Day, though, as they've been averaging 10.5 hits. Given SouthLake Christian Academy's sizable advantage in that area, the Spartans will need to find a way to close that gap.
