Basketball Recap: North Davidson Takes a Loss

North Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 62-53 to the Asheboro Blue Comets. That's two games in a row now that the Black Knights have lost by exactly nine points.

Despite the defeat, North Davidson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Carson Everhart posted 11 points. Those 11 points gave Everhart a new career-high. Carson Davis was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 11 points.

Osiris Rodriguez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds for Asheboro. Rodriguez's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Woodle, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 14 points along with six assists and three steals.

North Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Asheboro, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

North Davidson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Asheboro, they have already played their next match, a 44-33 defeat against Ledford on the 17th.
