Recap: Liberty Lancers vs. Pine Creek Eagles
The Liberty Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to Pine Creek. Liberty has not had much luck with Pine Creek recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Liberty still got an impressive performance from London Praytor, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Praytor has scored all season. Cameron Cunningham was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Pine Creek was led to victory by Paul Grier and Blake Marshall. Grier scored 13 points along with six assists and two steals, while Marshall dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Luke Wright, who scored four points along with two steals.
Liberty's defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Pine Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Liberty will be playing in front of their home fans against Doherty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Doherty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday. As for Pine Creek, they will head out on the road to challenge Fountain-Fort Carson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fountain-Fort Carson is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
