Baseball Game Preview: Carroll County Cavaliers vs. Grayson County Blue Devils

The Carroll County Cavaliers will head out on the road to take on the Grayson County Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carroll County's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Grayson County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Carroll County easily dispatched James River two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Cavaliers fell just short of Glenvar by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. The Cavaliers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Grayson County waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They put the hurt on the Maroons with a sharp 8-2 win. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Grayson County's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Carroll County, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.

Everything went Carroll County's way against Grayson County in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Carroll County made off with a 19-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
