Baseball Game Preview: Trenton Tigers vs. Collinsville Pirates

The Trenton Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Collinsville Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Collinsville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Trenton, who comes in off a win.

Trenton took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Ector as Trenton made off with a 13-2 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Wyatt Davis was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-2. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Paxton Gonzalez, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2.

Trenton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Collinsville suffered their biggest defeat since February 22, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 14-2 to Sanger. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Pirates' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Collinsville's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Trenton, their record now sits at 2-4.

Trenton suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Collinsville when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Trenton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
