The third road matchup was the charm for Johnson County, as they earned their first away win of the season. They managed an 18-14 victory over the Claiborne Bulldogs on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Longhorns, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Johnson County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Juan Mejia led the charge by rushing for 83 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries. Mejia also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending one pass.

Another reason for the win was Johnson County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Ben Reece was the leader with two. Johnson County got some further help from Eli Tester: he picked up a sack and made 12 total tackles.

With the win, Johnson County broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Claiborne, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
