On Thursday, Maryland School for the Deaf didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mount Airy Christian Academy, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory.
Meanwhile, Marie Philip scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Woodward by a score of 55-45.
Marie Philip's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Valerie Salgado, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Salgado has scored at least 25% of Marie Philip's points. Another player making a difference was Solina Rampino, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds and three steals.
The win got Maryland School for the Deaf back to even at 3-3. As for Marie Philip, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Maryland School for the Deaf against Marie Philip in their previous matchup back in February of 2022 as the team secured a 63-7 win. With Maryland School for the Deaf ahead 37-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
