Recap: Belle Tigers vs. Iberia Rangers

After flying high against the Tuscumbia Lions last Wednesday, the Belle Tigers came back down to earth. Belle fell 59-48 to the Rangers on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Belle in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now lost four in a row.

Iberia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tressie Brown, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Brown continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Rowden, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Belle's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Iberia, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belle will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Indians at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Russellville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Tigers likes a good challenge. As for Iberia, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Bears at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th.
