Basketball Game Preview: Holy Names Academy vs. Garfield Bulldogs

Holy Names Academy hasn't had much luck against Garfield recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Holy Names Academy are taking a road trip to square off against the Garfield Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m.

Last Wednesday, Holy Names Academy was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 1-0 to Seattle Prep. The matchup marked the first time this year in which Holy Names Academy was not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Garfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They breezed by Lincoln to the tune of 72-40 on Wednesday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Lynx are ranked 192nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Garfield's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-6. As for Holy Names Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.

Holy Names Academy took a serious blow against Garfield in their previous matchup on January 15th, falling 52-24. Can Holy Names Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
