Baseball Game Preview: Buckeye Hawks vs. Youngker Roughriders

The Buckeye Hawks will face off against the Youngker Roughriders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, Buckeye came up short against Verrado and fell 5-1. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zaiden Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Buckeye saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Fierro, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Youngker waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Scorpions by a score of 5-1.

Youngker's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Buckeye, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Buckeye has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Youngker struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
