Preview: Woodsboro Eagles vs. Yorktown Wildcats
The Woodsboro Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Yorktown Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Woodsboro and 12 for Yorktown.
Last Friday, Woodsboro ended up a good deal behind Port Aransas and lost 58-41.
Despite the loss, Woodsboro got a solid performance out of Taggart Silvas, who scored 18 points along with four steals and two blocks. Jordan Zena was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Yorktown suffered their biggest defeat since December 9, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a tough 65-43 defeat at the hands of Skidmore-Tynan. Yorktown has struggled against Skidmore-Tynan recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Woodsboro bumped their record down to 7-19 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Yorktown, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Woodsboro didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Yorktown in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 48-44 victory. Does Woodsboro have another victory up their sleeve, or will Yorktown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
