Baseball Recap: Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate Comes Up Short

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-3 to the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Phoenix have lost by exactly ten runs.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chris Perez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave Perez a new career-high in hits. DJ Valley also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate's record is now 0-7. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate will venture away from home to face off against Largo at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will host Anclote at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anclote is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
