Basketball Recap: Jermaine Oconner Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Bonnabel

Denham Springs lost to Bonnabel back in December of 2015, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Denham Springs Yellowjackets took down the Bonnabel Bruins 66-48.

Denham Springs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jermaine OConner out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. What's more, OConner also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. DaSean Golmond was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.

Denham Springs' win bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Bonnabel, they moved to 10-5 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Denham Springs will venture away from home to challenge Plaquemine at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bonnabel, they will head out to face off against Warren Easton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren Easton is on a six-game streak of home wins, Bonnabel a seven-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
