Baseball Recap: Westborough Comes Up Short

Westborough extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-18 in the process. They came up short against the Bay Path RVT Minutemen, falling 9-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Minutemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in April.

As for Bay Path RVT, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.

For Bay Path RVT's part, Josh Hemingway made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Hemingway was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jacob Delvalle was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Chase Davis was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Westborough does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bay Path RVT, they will challenge Diman RVT at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bengals will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Minutemen surely won't give up without a fight.
