Recap: Basha Bears vs. Westwood Warriors
The Basha Bears pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Westwood by a score of 63-60. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Basha in their matchups with Westwood: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Basha saw an underclassman step up: Grace Beckler dropped a double-double on 21 points and 19 rebounds. Beckler scored a full 35% of Basha's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Terrais-Joi Coleman, who scored 17 points.
Even though they lost, Basha were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Basha bumped their record down to 9-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Westwood, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.
Basha will head out on the road to face off against Xavier College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cibola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
