Baseball Recap: Lee Williams Find Success

Lee Williams's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Mingus Marauders. This was payback for the Volunteers, who suffered an 11-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Barrett Bowman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Lee Williams is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-6 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Izaiah Orozco, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nathan Cunningham, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Lee Williams' record now sits at 5-7. As for Mingus, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lee Williams beat the Marauders by a score of 11-10 later that day.
