Softball Game Preview: Ingomar Falcons vs. Bruce Trojans

Ingomar is 0-3 against Bruce since March of 2024 but things could change on Saturday. The Ingomar Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bruce Trojans at 1:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row dating back to last season, Ingomar turned things around against Hickory Flat on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 25-7 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Falcons' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Bruce entered their tilt with Calhoun City on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since April 12, 2024.

Leah Clark was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Turner, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.

Clark wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bruce kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Bruce's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Ingomar, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
