Basketball Game Preview: Foothill Tech Dragons vs. Santa Ynez Pirates

Foothill Tech hasn't had much luck against Santa Ynez recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Dragons will take on the Pirates in a tournament on Monday. Foothill Tech has given up an average of 55.2 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Foothill Tech is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since November 19, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against Polytechnic, falling 59-37. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Dragons' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Meanwhile, Santa Ynez didn't have quite enough to beat Dos Pueblos on Saturday and fell 56-53. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Chargers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Foothill Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Santa Ynez, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Foothill Tech couldn't quite get it done against Santa Ynez in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 as they fell 56-44. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
