Volleyball Game Preview: Northeast Vikings vs. Hollins Royals

The Northeast Vikings will square off against the Hollins Royals at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northeast will be strutting in after a victory while Hollins will be coming in after a defeat.

Northeast will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Seminole, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Vikings blew past the Warhawks 3-0 on Thursday.

Northeast not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Seminole between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 25-18.

Northeast's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Laila Youkhong, who had six digs and two aces, and Leila Lee, who had seven assists and four digs. That's the most aces Youkhong has posted over her last five matchups.

Meanwhile, Hollins lost 3-0 to Osceola on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-14, 25-10.

Northeast's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. As for Hollins, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Everything went Northeast's way against Hollins in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, as Northeast made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
