Hialeah and Hialeah Gardens are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Hialeah Thoroughbreds' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hialeah Gardens Gladiators at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Back in December of 2023, Hialeah beat Lincoln County 54-43.

Meanwhile, Hialeah Gardens scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 95-40 win over Goleman. The victory was familiar territory for Hialeah Gardens who now have four in a row.

Hialeah Gardens' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nick Perez led the charge by scoring 37 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Pupo, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 assists.

Hialeah's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Hialeah Gardens, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Hialeah came up short against Hialeah Gardens when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 71-61. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Pupo, who scored 43 points along with five assists and five steals.
