Softball Recap: Routt Catholic Starts Season with Loss at Home

Routt Catholic unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Auburn Trojans on Monday, falling 17-2. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Auburn pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Routt Catholic will be playing at home against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Auburn, they will head out to face off against Gillespie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Auburn's pitchers better be ready for this one: Gillespie has averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
