Basketball Recap: Grant Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

On Monday, the Grant Pacers didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the West Park Panthers, but they still walked away with a 56-52 win. Given the Pacers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Panthers are ranked 369th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grant's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for West Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grant will head out to take on Antelope at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Antelope's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for West Park, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the West Park Panthers face off against the McClatchy Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. McClatchy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69 points per game this season.
