Baseball Recap: Monticello Takes a Loss

Monticello and Parowan squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Monticello had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 6-5. The Buckaroo haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Kord Young stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Arturo Guiterrez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Parowan, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.

Monticello does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Parowan, they will square off against American Leadership Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
