Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only McKenzie walked away with it. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 39-0 win over the Fayetteville Tigers. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won 12 games by 29 points or more so far this season.

McKenzie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Brown out in front who threw for 268 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 80 yards and one score. Brown got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 72 yards. Another player making a difference was Jacobi Melton, who picked up 169 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

McKenzie didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kason Brown and Cole.

McKenzie pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.7 points on average over those games. As for Fayetteville, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.

Coming up, McKenzie will face off against South Pittsburg at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least 31 points in their last 13 contests. Fayetteville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
