Basketball Recap: Rivercrest Comes Up Short

Rivercrest extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-7. They fell 68-55 to the CHAAMP HomeSchool Hawks. The Rebels were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games.

Caleb Carlisle had a dynamite game, shooting 69% from the field on his way to 27 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those 27 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bradon Wafford, who posted eight points in addition to eight assists and five boards.

Coming up, Rivercrest and Broaddus will face off at 8:30 a.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. As for CHAAMP HomeSchool, they have already played their next game, a 55-36 loss against Bland on the 11th.
