Softball Recap: Mountain Grove Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Mountain Grove hadn't done well against Ava recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Panthers walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Bears. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Aubrey Owens was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton O'Connor, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Mountain Grove now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Ava, they moved to 8-5 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Mountain Grove will challenge Plato at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ava, they will host Willow Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
