Cookeville won the last time they faced Blackman and things went their way on Monday too. The Cookeville Cavaliers came out on top against the Blackman Blaze by a score of 56-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.

Cookeville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cara Lee Gilbert led the charge by shooting 45% from the field en route to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Reeder, who went 7-for-8 to rack up 17 points.

Cookeville was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blackman only four assists.

Blackman's loss came despite strong showings from Layla Hall and Lyriq Mastin. Hall shot 50% from the field on her way to 19 points, while Mastin went 8-for-19 en route to 20 points. Hall is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played.

Cookeville's win bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Blackman, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-4.

Cookeville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-32 victory against Lebanon on the 5th. Blackman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
