Softball Recap: Nitro Wildcats vs. Williamstown Yellowjackets

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hoover, Nitro was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Williamstown Yellowjackets with a sharp 19-4 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the contest before.

McKenzie Hyatt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Ryleigh Click was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Zoe Hyatt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.

Nitro hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive matches.
