Recap: Tempe Buffaloes vs. Coronado Dons
The Tempe Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The game between Tempe and Coronado wasn't particularly close, with Tempe falling 36-17. Tempe has not had much luck with Coronado recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Coronado found their leader in underclassman Miranda Moreno, who scored 12 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moreno has scored all season. Ariel Douglas was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
Tempe has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season. As for Coronado, their victory bumped their record up to 6-15.
Tempe and Vista Grande will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Vista Grande is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games. As for Coronado, they will head out on the road to challenge Dysart at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Dysart has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last seven games.
