Football Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Robbinsville's Winning Streak

Robbinsville dropped down to 5-3 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 17-10 to the Murphy Bulldogs. While the Black Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 7-0 in the first quarter.

Luke Lovin threw for 115 yards on 12 of 22 attempts. Benton Gibby was his top target, picking up 32 receiving yards. On the ground, Isiac Collins rushed for 43 yards.

As for Murphy, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.2 points over those games.

Cameron Clem was his usual excellent self, rushing for 109 yards and a pair of scores. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Robbinsville will challenge rival Rosman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Murphy is set to face off against their familiar foe Andrews at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
