Basketball Recap: Austin College and Career Academy Comes Up Short

Austin College and Career Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 76-34 loss at the hands of the Schurz Bulldogs.

It was another big night for MICHAEL CHANEY JR, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 17 points in addition to six assists and six steals for Schurz. That's the most steals CHANEY JR has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of KAMARION FAGAIRO, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points and six boards.

Austin College and Career Academy's record now sits at 0-7. As for Schurz, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Austin College and Career Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Manley at 4:30 p.m. on January 21st. Schurz also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Orr at 5:00 p.m. on January 21st. Orr will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Schurz surely won't give up without a fight.
