Softball Recap: Rye Cove Starts off Right with Win over Virginia High

Rye Cove gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Virginia High Bearcats a 10-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

Rye Cove let Kenzie Hood and Jasmine Stanley run wild. Hood scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Stanley scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Stanley is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Byrd, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
