Preview: Prairie vs. Genesee
Genesee (10-0) has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. Both it and Prairie (11-1) have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Friday at 7:00 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. Genesee has blown out its past ten opponents, so Prairie has its work cut out for it.
Last week, Genesee took on Challis. Genesee's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 32 points in the first half. That put it at a 32 - 0 advantage. The offense continued to do well in the second half, scoring 18 points. At the end of the day, Genesee walked away with a breezy 50 - 28 win.
As for Prairie, it kept its home record unblemished after another positive outing on its own turf. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, it beat Oakley 42 - 36 last week. The win came about thanks to a strong surge after the third quarter to overcome a deficit of eight points.
It should be a fierce showdown as Genesee is 1st in the MaxPreps state rankings and Prairie is 2nd. We'll find out on Friday who wants it more.
