Basketball Recap: Discovery Starts Season with Win Against Lovett + How To Watch

Discovery had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Lovett Lions to the tune of 61-23. With the Titans ahead 41-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Discovery found their leader in sophomore Jade Jones, who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine steals. Jaedyn Gaddis was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.

Discovery smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Lovett's loss came despite strong showings from Maddy Eford and Vaughan McKnight. Eford posted nine points, while McKnight put up six points.

Discovery has already played their next game, a 70-21 victory against Chamblee on the 11th. As for Lovett, they will welcome Wesleyan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
