Recap: Klein Cain Hurricanes vs. Kingwood Mustangs
The Klein Cain Hurricanes were the 58-34 winner over the Kingwood Mustangs when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. Klein Cain took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kingwood. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Klein Cain came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Kingwood is ranked 892nd).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kingwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fife Adene, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Pemi Areola, who scored 4 points along with 4 steals.
Klein Cain now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Kingwood, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Klein Cain will take on Bryan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kingwood, they will be playing at home against Huntsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
