Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Beats Hoke County for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Trinity Christian had won three straight games and JaVon Motta did his part to make it four on Friday. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Hoke County Bucks with a sharp 68-43 victory with plenty of help from Motta, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 21 points and seven boards. He has also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 46% every time he's hit the court this season.

Another player making a difference was Winston Waite, who posted 15 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Despite the loss, Hoke County still got an impressive performance from Josiah Jacobs, who went 6-for-13 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Savion Kinston, who scored nine points and eight boards.

Trinity Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Hoke County, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Trinity Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hoke County, they will welcome Seventy-First at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
