Othello waltzed into their game on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Grandview Greyhounds a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Huskies have won five matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Xzyyvn Martinez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Othello got a big performance out of Jordan Montemayor, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Rjay Garza was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Othello kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Othello pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Grandview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
