Huckabay had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past the Slocum Mustangs with a 44-40 win on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won 15 games in a row.

Slocum's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Sbrusch, who posted 16 points and five steals. Sbrusch is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last 16 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Braydon Minton, who scored ten points and five steals.

Huckabay pushed their record up to 23-11 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Slocum, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-13.

Looking ahead, Huckabay will challenge Forestburg at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Forestburg's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. Slocum does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
