Basketball Recap: Scripps Ranch Comes Up Short

Scripps Ranch came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 77-53 to the La Jolla Country Day Torreys. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Torreys recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Scripps Ranch lost, don't look at Drew Corso. Despite the final result, he shot 58% from the field to rack up 15 points and six boards. Corso's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Alex Gerhant was another key player, going 5-for-12 en route to 11 points and five rebounds.

Scripps Ranch now has a losing record of 4-5. As for La Jolla Country Day, they moved to 4-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Scripps Ranch won't have much time to rest: their next game is against La Costa Canyon at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for La Jolla Country Day, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Rancho Bernardo at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
