Basketball Game Preview: Beach Bulldogs vs. Johnson Atomsmashers

The Beach Bulldogs will square off against the Johnson Atomsmashers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Beach is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Johnson just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 66-55 to the Atomsmashers.

Beach better focus on containing Favion Kirkwood and Quentin James as the pair were huge in Johnson's win. Kirkwood went 11 for 20 on his way to 25 points and five steals, while James went 7 of 11 en route to 20 points and seven rebounds. Kirkwood's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Treshawn Robinson was another key player, putting up five points and three steals.

Johnson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-14 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
