Volleyball Recap: Sahuaro Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Sahuaro challenged Marana on Friday. The Cougars fell 2-0 to the Tigers. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2015.

Alexia Gould paced Sahuaro's offense, picking up five kills. Gould were helped by Delarenta Ochoa and Zoeeann Plotts, who contributed four assists each.

This is the second loss in a row for Sahuaro and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Marana, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Sahuaro will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Poston Butte at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marana, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Pueblo on the 29th.
