Franklin came out on top against Lexington on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Lions skirted past the Eagles 8-6. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Eagles on Tuesday, they had to take a 8-4 loss.

Franklin pushed their record up to 15-8-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Lexington, they moved to 15-7 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Franklin will challenge rival Rockdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lexington is set to square off against their familiar foe Thrall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
