Basketball Recap: Alcovy Comes Up Short

Alcovy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost to the Jackson County Panthers on the road by a 53-35 margin. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in January of 2025.

Despite the loss, Alcovy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Simaria Wilburn dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Wilburn.

Alcovy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Jackson County, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Alcovy and Jackson County will both be playing Loganville the next time they take the court. The Tigers will host the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
