Pana's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Southwestern Piasa Birds a 4-0 shutout. That looming 4-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Pana yet this season.

The victory got Pana back to even at 5-5-1. As for Southwestern, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Pana and Southwestern will both be playing Staunton the next time they take the pitch. The Panthers will host the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Piasa Birds will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
