For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when East Marion and Salem meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Eagles came up short against the Wildcats, falling 17-11. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Kayleigh Allen and Adrinae Aikens stepped up to the plate in a big way. Allen went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Aikens went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That triple was Allen's first of the season. Zi'Kiya Bridges was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

East Marion's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Salem, they pushed their record up to 7-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

East Marion didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-1 win against Resurrection Catholic on the 27th. As for Salem, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 5-3 victory against Sacred Heart on the 27th.
