Basketball Recap: Hoehne Takes a Loss

Hoehne lost against Crowley County back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hoehne Farmers took a blow against the Crowley County Chargers, falling 91-35. While losing is never fun, the Farmers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Chargers are ranked 60th).

It was another big night for Gunner Hughes, who almost dropped a double-double with 47 points and nine boards for Crowley County. The matchup was Hughes' fifth in a row with at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Anthoni Walter, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds.

Hoehne has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. The victory (which was Crowley County's tenth in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

Hoehne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Crowley County, they will face off against Fowler at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
