Basketball Recap: Dyersburg Piles Up the Points Against Obion County

Dyersburg won the last time they faced Obion County and things went their way on Friday too. The Dyersburg Trojans blew past the Obion County Rebels, posting a 66-32 win. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Dyersburg was led to victory by Chelby Jordan and Joya Crawford. Jordan almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds, while Crawford went 12 of 25 on her way to 27 points and eight steals. Jordan's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalli Maclin, who went 5 for 8 en route to 10 points along with five boards and four steals.

Dyersburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

Dyersburg's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Obion County, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Crockett County the next time they take the court. Dyersburg will host Crockett County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Obion County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
