Central Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Danville Blue Devils 3-0 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Central Christian not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Danville between 14 and 16 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-14, 25-14.

Sommer Shue paced Central Christian's offense, picking up 11 kills. Shue got some help from Maclaren Fry and her 22 assists. Shue was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Central Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Rittman on the 18th. As for Danville, they will take on Fredericktown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Blue Devils their first taste of in-conference action this season.
